Leitrim Distric Tartan Kilt
Wear Irish pride with a kilt that has real tartan registry history behind it. The Leitrim, County tartan is recorded in the Scottish Register of Tartans (STA ref 2271) as a District tartan, designed by House of Edgar, Macnaughton Holdings Ltd., with a tartan date listed as 1996.
Registry notes describe it as part of a series of Irish District tartans designed by Polly Wittering. They are noted as not “officially sanctioned” district tartans, but widely popular, and described as trade designs created for Macnaughtons of Pitlochry.
Visually, the County Leitrim tartan is often described as mainly light blue, with stripes in darker and warmer tones cutting through the pattern for a bold but wearable look. Styled traditionally with a sporran and hose or worn casually with a shirt and boots, this kilt is an easy way to bring regional heritage into a modern wardrobe.
